Children with fevers, untreated bacterial infections, vomiting, diarrhea, or other contagious or communicable diseases will not be allowed to enter or re-enter school until they are sufficiently recovered and (a) do not need special care, and (b) are non-contagious. We reserve the right to request a doctor's note when there is any doubt about suspicious symptoms.
In case of serious illness or an accident, the school director or teacher will administer first aid and/or send your child to a hospital or physician for emergency treatment.
Medication : All medication policies are subject to Maryland state regulation. You are requested to complete a Medication Order Form each time a new medication is to be given to a child.
All prescription medications must be brought to Rockville Nursery School and Kindergarten Sun Fun in the original container with the child's name, date, authorization label, and dosage instructions clearly affixed by the pharmacy. The medication must bear the name of the child to whom the medication is to be administered, not a sibling.
All over the counter medication must be labeled and accompanied by the Medication Order Form. Please read the instructions on the form carefully. Any medicine must be hand delivered by an adult to your child's teacher or morning staff or director with the proper medication form. Please do not send medications and/or forms in a child's lunch box.
It is also easier to ask the pharmacist to put medication in two bottles so that one can remain at school while the other one is at home. This eliminates any problems with forgetting medication.
