Georgette Steckler - 34th year with RNS&K. Georgette holds a BS in Early Childhood Education from New York University, as well as an advanced professional certification from the State of Maryland. She has a Masters Equivalent and Reading Specialist Certification. Georgette is the Assistant Director of the school and co- direc¬ts RNS&K "Sun Fun" program. Georgette is an antique dealer as a side business.

Sarah Schmid - 10th year with RNS&K. Sarah has a B.S. from Frostburg University in Early Childhood/Elementary Education. Sarah has graduate work from Frostburg as well as the University of Maryland. Sarah worked with the Montgomery County Department of Recreation as a site Director of Summer Centers for 7 years. Sarah’s interests include interpretive sign language and dance. She lives with her husband Nick and wonderful children, Joshua, Elizabeth and Abigail.

Esther Jacobs - 10th year at RNS&K. Esther holds a BS from the University of Maryland in Elementary Education, as well as an MA from Trinity College. She taught at RNS&K for 7 years and left in 1995 to teach Kindergarten in Montgomery County. She retired 2 years ago from MCPS and has come back to join our staff. Esther enjoys spending time with her granddaughters, Samantha and Jenna, and her grandson, Max, in San Francisco.

Toni Salzano - 12th year with RNS&K. Toni holds her 90 hour Senior Staff Certificate in early childhood education and has taken additional classes and workshops in early childhood education. Toni enjoys spending her time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She enjoys volunteering at her church and has taught Sunday School for 22 years. Toni works as the afternoon child care supervisor with Georgette Steckler.

ADMINISTRATION

Sara Steiner - Administrative Assistant – 32nd year with RNS&K - BA from Hunter College in Elementary Education - Graduate work from Trinity College and University of Maryland in Early Childhood Education - Taught primary grades for 2½ years for Montgomery County Public Schools -Taught 4 year olds and Kindergarten at RNS&K before becoming the director in June of 1987 -2006, She is on the Advisory Council of the Montgomery County Library - for the Child Care Resource Collection. Her spare time is given to several different organizations and community services as well as her husband, daughter, son-in-law, grand¬son, son, and "Max", her new puppy. She is an avid scrap booker! She has come out of “retirement” and works on the financial management of the school as well as the data base and additional computer tasks.

DIRECTOR

Gail Goldfarb - 18th year with RNS&K - Gail holds a BS from the University of Maryland in Elementary Education. Gail taught Pre-K at the Children’s Learning Center in Rockville, MD for 7 years before coming to RNS&K. She joined the staff here at Rockville Nursery School in 1992, and enjoyed fourteen years teaching Kindergarten and Pre-K with Georgette Steckler before she became the director in 2006. Gail also directed the Summer Program at B’nai Shalom of Olney for 3 years. Gail spends her spare time volunteering for several charitable organizations. She enjoys spending time with her family.
